GANAS
Spanish for "drive and determination"
GANAS Bootcamp prepares participants to succeed in the workforce by aligning them with WorkTexas culture, expectations, and employer standards, while providing career exposure and guidance to help them choose and pursue the right path.
OSHA 10
A 10-hour entry-level safety training designed to help students and workers recognize, avoid, and prevent common workplace hazards. Delivered by OSHA-authorized trainers.
Training & career coaching
Hands-on trade training leading to nationally recognized certifications, combined with resume building, interview prep, job search support, and employer connections throughout your journey.
Graduation
Celebrate your trade certification, OSHA 10 card, and workforce readiness. Two ceremonies per year with students, families, instructors, and employer partners.
Alumni programming
Career advancement, networking, mentorship, employer connections, and continued engagement with the WorkTexas community — long after training ends.

Construction & electrical
Building Tech I
Learn the fundamentals of residential and commercial construction including framing, flooring, finishing, and site work. Prepares you for entry-level employment as a construction laborer, carpenter's helper, or building trades worker.

Electrical Tech I
Gain hands-on training in electrical theory, wiring, conduit installation, and safety practices used in residential and commercial settings. Prepares for entry-level employment as an electrical apprentice licensed through TDLR.

Residential Electrical
A focused introduction to electrical systems in residential construction, covering wiring, panel basics, and code compliance. Prepares for entry-level employment as a residential electrical apprentice licensed through TDLR.

HVAC Tech I
In partnership with Technical Arts Center
Learn to install, maintain, and troubleshoot heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Prepares for entry-level employment as an HVAC technician or service apprentice.

Plumbing Tech
In partnership with Technical Arts Center
Train in the installation and repair of water supply, drainage, and gas piping systems. Prepares for entry-level employment as a plumbing apprentice or helper.

Develop hands-on skills in bricklaying, block work, concrete, and stonework. Prepares for entry-level employment as a masonry worker or construction laborer.

Learn the essential skills to maintain and repair apartment and commercial properties, including HVAC basics, plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair. Prepares for entry-level employment as an apartment or building maintenance technician.

Arc Welding

Master the foundational welding technique used across construction, manufacturing, and industrial settings. Prepares for entry-level employment as a welder or welding helper.

Build a comprehensive foundation in multiple welding processes including MIG, stick, and basic fabrication. Prepares for entry-level employment as a welder across construction, manufacturing, and industrial industries.

Learn precision welding techniques used in aerospace, piping, and custom fabrication. Prepares for entry-level employment as a TIG welder in specialized industrial settings.

Advanced — requires Welding ISpecialize in welding pipe systems used in oil, gas, and industrial infrastructure. One of the most in-demand and highest-paying welding specializations in Houston. Prepares for entry-level employment as a pipe welder in the energy and construction sectors.

Learn to measure, cut, assemble, and install pipe systems used in industrial, commercial, and energy sector facilities. Prepares for entry-level employment as a pipefitter helper or apprentice.

Patient Care Technician
In partnership with RGV Vocational Services
Train in essential patient care skills including vital signs, EKG, phlebotomy, and clinical support. Prepares for entry-level employment in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and long-term care facilities.
